We cannot recommend First Thousand Plus Childcare & Ms. Dunnie enough, we are impressed with the care our children (ages 3.5 & 2) receive with Ms. Dunnie's ability to guide their learning development academically, socially & emotionally. From an educational perspective our children have absolutely thrived. Ms. Dunnie is a wonderful educator which is evidenced by our children's developmental progress being ahead of the pediatrician recommended guidelines for their ages.

Our children receive individualized, focused attention and we have seen steady development in them both. Ms. Dunnie takes the time to get to know the personalities of each child and helps them to learn in the ways they will receive best. This is far better in my opinion than "herd" learning of the big centers where kids just do what everyone else is doing.

Socially Ms. Dunnie does a wonderful job of providing structure and rules within her center for all the children and reinforces positive encouragement like clapping and cheering when kids do things well. My kids really enjoy this part! Emotionally kids go through a lot in their formative years and Ms. Dunnie has helped our kids to understand and address frustration, changes and sticking with hard things (like learning something new). If you are looking for something more than just a place for your kids to go while you work I think you will be happy with the caring, learning environment of First Thousand Plus.

We have been with this center for nearly three years. The staff are highly reliable, compassionate and skilled. We attribute many of our daughter’s good habits to Ms Dunnie’s influence. She has greatly contributed to our daughter’s strong speaking and reading skills.

At 3.5 years old, she has voracious love for books and can already read simple words independently. She teaches a curriculum providing good balance of learning and play. Our daughter is learning new concepts quickly, yet not feeling overwhelmed.

Ultimately, we feel blessed that the center has played a major role in our daughter’s development.
